Hannibal, S2 Ep 5/6

Hannibal, S2 Ep 5/6

Hi everybody, Mary here.

So, as #TwoWeeksOfHannibal keeps going, here's the review for the next two episodes of the second season, Mukozuke and Futamono. So, without any further ado, let's get started, shall we ?

Mukozuke

"She met the Ripper last night, Jack. She will be missing organs. He had to take his trophies."
As I predicted (which was fairly obvious in the end of the last episode), Beverly was killed by the Ripper - by Hannibal Lecter. She was cut into pieces and her ghost now haunts Will Graham, because he had been the one to warn him about Hannibal and had advised her to avoid him as much as possible now feels responsible for her death. When her body has to be analysed by her own colleagues, they don't want to grieve too much as it was her wish. But we can see that Jack Crawford, once again, lost one of his colleagues and he must be really upset himself.

"He sent me to kill you, Abel.
- Am I your evidence ? Oh, you're in trouble, Mr. Graham."
I thought that Gideon was dead, but apparently, he isn't ??? Anyway, now he is in the same facility as Will Graham, and Will discusses about how he was manipulated by Hannibal to kill him. That's how he had found him so easily after he left Lecter's office. After all, he hadn't remembered seeing Abel in the office, so it's plausible that he had been sent by Hannibal himself to kill him. But apparently, he missed his shot and Gideon survived. Anyway, for him, the only way the Ripper can be stopped now is by killing him. And Will won't refuse the taste of revenge after all the things that happened to him recently...

"I'm always happy to do a favour for a friend, just say the word.
- I want you to kill Hannibal Lecter."
As we see in this episode, there is an admirer for Will Graham, and he was the one that had sent him the ear (but he didn't kill the judge, apparently). He is so fascinated by him because he believes that he is the Ripper that he would do anything to please him. Obviously, Will takes his chance and asks for Hannibal to be killed. He could have died if not for Jack Crawford and Alana Bloom who saved his life at the very last minute. We don't know what happened to him next, but the consequences for Will will be terrible, in my opinion... Also, how is Hannibal going to react to this murder attempt ? We will know soon...

Overal impression : Great episode, with a lot of suspense, especially in the end. The FBI is getting closer to Hannibal and maybe he will be catched soon ? Anyway, great time.

Futamono

"If the Ripper is killing, you can bet Hannibal Lecter is having a dinner party. You and I probably sipped wine while swallowing the people who we were trying to give justice, Jack."
In this episode, as Will tries to convince Jack that Hannibal is the Ripper, we can see him starting to believe him. After all, he hasn't left the prison since he was arrested, how could he know that Lecter was throwing a dinner party ? After Beverly's murder, he decides to go there, but only to take some "food" to be analysed. In the episode, we have seen that Hannibal has killed again to provide the "meat" to his guests. He finally finds out after a minutious inspection that the Ripper and the copycat were one and the same (that's what Will had tried to explain since the beginning, I start to believe that the police here are SO F*CKING SLOW) and that Will is innocent (better be free soon with a lot of excuses. I personnaly would punch everybody who hasn't believed me in the f*cking face a couple of times, just to be sure they don't do it ever again). He then finds Myriam, his former trainee, in the end of the episode ; what will happen next is for the following episodes, I guess.

"My compliments to the chef."
In this episode, we can see more guilt coming from Will as he is haunted by Beverly's ghost. He tries his way out with the help of Gideon, or even gets interviewed by Freddie in exchange for exclusive rights for his story. However, the guards push Gideon off the stairs (to kill him or just to hurt him ? I don't know), and he ends up with a fractured spine. His guards are then killed by Hannibal and displayed with the Ripper-style (but with evidence like the copycat, that's why Jack could deduce they were one only person). Abel is then held hostage by Lecter and forced to eat his own flesh as a last meal. In the end, Hannibal likes to play with fire : he wants to be seen but not to be arrested for his crimes as he wants to keep doing them unnoticed.

"I'll give Alana Bloom your best. Goodbye, Will."
And, last but not least, the very shocking information of this episode (at the very least for me) is the fact that after a little hook-up with Will, Alana Bloom now hooks up with Hannibal Lecter ??? Anyway, she even gives him an alibi for the night when he went to kill the guards and kidnap him, right in front of Jack Crawford. Anyway, we won't judge her for what she does, and just appreciate the footage of Mads shirtless in bed. Am I right guys ??? And that's how we also appreciate for the last two episodes Hannibal playing the piano and composing his own music. I mean, I wish I could do that, but with my very little practice of the piano, that won't be likely to happen anytime soon.

Overall impression : Another great cliffhanger, that concludes half of this season, and I am as eager as Will to taste his freedom and sweet, sweet revenge... *plots the most horrible torture and murders possible in only 0.3 seconds*. Anyway, great time !

Okay, that's it for today, I hoped you enjoyed this post, and I will see you very soon.

And as usual, our last word... KIDNEYS !
