Broadchurch, S2 Ep8

Broadchurch, S2 Ep8

Hi everybody, Mary here.

So, here's to another #DoubleSunday, and the conclusion to #TwoWeeksOfBroadchurch, with the review for the last episode of the second series ! So, without any further ado, let's get started !

Episode 8

"Do you find the defendent, Joseph Michael Miller, guilty or not guilty ?
- Not guilty."
So, here's the verdict for this trial. I can't even begin to describe how shitty I felt when I heard the lady's voice saying that... Now, Joe Miller walks free, his family is scared about what's going to happen to them, and they are thinking about a plan to avoid him. Even if he used the system to break free, he is still guilty and deserves a correct sentence for Danny's murder. How will the town react to the new fact ? Knowing that the family can't re-open the case unless further avidence showing his guilt is found, he is a free man who can go wherever he wants... Also, poor Jocelyn. She really worked hard on this case, only to lose it to her own student (who, as I thought, just believes that trials are "streets fights in wigs" and not the nobility of giving the right justice. I REALLY F*CKING HATE HER !!!). And even after that, Jocelyn, who doesn't want to end on a loss, especially to her student, takes her son's case to win, not only for herself, but also as a revenge when miss Fisher said that Jocelyn didn't care. Suck that Ms Fisher ! *leaves the room for a while before throwing a tantrum*

"Tell me how you came to have Pippa Gillespie's pendant, Claire."
In the end of the latest episode, we learnt that Claire gives the pendant to Alec. Now, the full story is known : Lee was with Pippa (sleeping in his bedroom) and had sex with Lisa. Then, Ricky, Pippa's father, comes in, discovers the sex scene, there is an argument, he kills Lisa. He then gives some sleeping liquid to Pippa while he carries the body in a grave nearby. Claire had just arrived and cleans with Lee and they change the floor and burn the one stained with blood. Lee, knowing that Pippa accuses him of Lisa's murder, kills her and drops her body in the forest. The pendant is still in his car. Then, it's taken as an evidence, but then Claire steals it. Conclusion : one murder for Ricky, one for Lee, Claire helped the two murderers, all three are arrested and go to jail. It's a happy ending for Alec Hardy, that now can start his new life with his pace-maker (he thought he couldn't survive, but he did, gladly). Now, the case can be fully closed and justice can be done.

"You think you can banish me ?
- We're sure of it, Joe."
And, a little justice is done. As Joe Miller goes to see Paul Coates, the vicar, but he doesn't want to help him anymore because he thought he was repentent and acknowledging his crimes, but he didn't, so now, he's fed up with that and he calls Mark and Nigel to give him some justice. As he's brought to the hutt where Danny was killed, he's given a sermon by Beth herself, gets corrected by Ellie, and then is banhsied from town. Ellie also said that he would kill him if he tried to see his sons, and would face the consequences. Thus, this is how Joe Miller leaves the town, as a paria, and he really deserved that treatmet for being a murderer and not facing the consequences of his actions. And last but not least, the last scene is really heart-warming, because the Millers and the Latimers are finally reunited, they are now trying to build a new life together. I hope them much happiness for the future then ! They truly deserve it !

Overall impression : SUPER-DUPER great finale, I am a little bit disappointed to see Joe walk free, but he was banished, so... Anyway, great show overall. Two MAGNIFICENT series that deserve more viewers than what they get !

Okay, so that wraps it up for the #TwoWeeksOfBroadchurch. Soon, I am about to take three days off from reviewing (I have a lot of work to do) so I will just post three articles that are related to YouTube (since I watch that a lot, I might jump in the conversation that is going on right now). So, prepare yourselves for some #YouTubeOpinions ! After that, I'll do #NineDaysOfInTheFlesh, before doing some announcements ! So, many things are going to come up here !

Anyway, I hope you liked this post and I will see you very soon with another one !

And as usual, our last word : KIDNEYS !
