Advent
Calendar #2 : Tree
Building a tree,
Dozens of tinsels and baubles covering it,
Some angles to watch you during the cold nights,
And a star to make wishes to.
Garlands illuminated in the dark of the night,
Sparkling and giving children hope all around the
world,
Baubles giving colours to the white of the winter,
Angels recieving prayers and wishes.
Children staying late at night under the tree,
Wondering if they behaved well enough
For Father Christmas to give them the gifts they
would like.
And parents looking at them with nostalgia.
Maybe the star, in a moment of compassion,
Will answer the adults' wish for a little bit of
innocence,
One last time. But they'll realise, by looking at
their children's eyes,
They don't have to go further to see miracles.
