Sherlock, S1 Ep3

Sherlock, S1 Ep3

Hi everybody, Mary here.

So, here's the review for the third and last episode in the first series of Sherlock. Then, without any further ado, let's get started, shall we ?

The Great Game

The three words I've picked for this episode are :

Game : In this episode, Sherlock is confronted to a game where he has to solve crimes in a very short amount of time before someone in the city is killed by a bomb. Once he solved the crimes, he can free the hostage from the bomb they are linked to, and go on with their lives (with a lifelong trauma, that is). Sherlock then realises that there must be a man, as bored as him, who just wants to play with him and watch him ''dance around'' to see his reactions, and see the disappointment in his eyes when the bomb exploses and kills 12 people, even if he had solved the crime.

Police : First of all, I hate this lady called Sally who keeps calling Sherlock ''Freak'', I just want to punch her in the face for that. Secondly, the policemen don't really like Sherlock, even if he's doing most work at Scotland Yard and basically, Lestrade owes him a lot of the solved crimes recently. For someone who works for free and helps the police without asking for anything in return, he should get some credit for his hard work, and yet, people really hate his power of deduction and just keep telling him to ''piss off'', as he said himself in the first episode.

Moriarty : Finally, we meet the great villain, Jim Moriarty. (By the way, I watched another version than the first I had seen because I don't remember having seen the first time around. The gay scene and the reminder of it in the end of the episode is quite funny, actually. But I just wanted to say that Sherlock shouldn't have said that Jim is gay just because he acts feminine, but just because he left his phone number to be called back, which is what people do when they want to be ''hit up''. Don't assume, Sherlock ! You have a brain, use it wisely...) And then, he talks, a lot. (The version I watched didn't have the funny ringtone, what a pity...) And then, he claims to be a criminal consultant, just like Sherlock is a detective consultant, just before leaving us... on a cliffhanger.

Overall impression : Another very fast-paced episode, full of action, which is what I appreciate in this kind of detective show. We'll see more in the next series !

Okay, that's it for today, I hope that you enjoyed this post and I will see you very soon with another one !

And as usual, our last word : KIDNEYS !

Sherlock, S1 Ep2

Sherlock, S1 Ep2

Hi everybody, Mary here.

So, here's the review for the second episode in the first series of Sherlock, the episode called The Blind Banker. So, without any further ado, let's get started, shall we ?

The Blind Banker

For this episode, those were the three words that I had in mind :

China : Well it's very obvious that this episode is centered around China and very precious objects from this country. But it's also the story of a gang of smugglers, The Black Lotus, who steals art pieces in China to sell it to auction in the Western world. Even in the end of the episode, when Sherlock and John dismantle the little group they were confronted to, Sherlock had to admit that it's just a little speck of the total gang and that they would never manage to catch the whole group, who will continue to smuggle. But after all, it's not their job : it's up to the police to dismantle the criminal gangs around the world.

Bank : The smugglers use rich bankers from the City to transport their valuable merchandise to be sold in the Western world. After all, as the leader says in the episode, ''in the West, everything has a price''. But then, two of them are killed because of a hair pin that has been lost, and is very important to the smugglers because its worth is nine million pounds. NINE. MILLION. POUNDS. It's later found in the hair of the secretary, and when Sherlock tells her the worth of what she had in her hair for all this time, she freaks out. I mean, imagine if you had nine million pounds on your head ?

Interrupted : Sherlock, as he does his job with Scotland Yard for free, doesn't get much money (that's why he was looking for a flatmate in the first place, like John because of his amry pension), and they have to find a job. (Seriously, getting five hundred pounds as an ''incentive'' and TWENTY THOUSANDS at the end of the job is seriously a lot of money, for them, but not for the millionnaire bankers they work for.) John tries to be a doctor downtown, but his work with Sherlock takes up all his time and he is often late or missing, which pisses off the other doctors working for him and taking his patients. Then, he tries to get a date, but he is interrupted by the circus, and Sherlock, then he is captured with his date, and he's mistaken for Sherlock Holmes. I think this young woman won't be coming back...

Overall impression : A very great episode, once again, a great story with a lot of action, and I can't wait to re-watch more of it !

Okay, that's it for today ! I hope that you enjoyed this post and I will see you very soon with another one !

And as usual, our last word : KIDNEYS !

Sherlock, S1 Ep1

Sherlock : S1 Ep1

Hi everybody, Mary here.

So, here's the review (so expected since I had promised you since July, but I didn't have the time because of Camp NaNoWriMo and then moving into my little studio) of the first episode in the first series of Sherlock. Anyways, without any further ado, let's get started, shall we ?

A Study In Pink

So, I am going to do a #InThreeWords review series for Sherlock... let's get started with the three words I have picked for this episode !

Introduction : Since this is the very first episode, we get introduced to the characters that everybody knows if they have read a little bit of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's works. There is Sherlock Holmes, the consultant detective, and John Watson, an army doctor coming back from Afghanistan. Together, they move in with Miss Hudson, the landlady, and investigate on crimes with Detective Inspector Lestrade. Sherlock and John are very soon having stuff together and, as Mycroft said, at this rate, ''there could be a happy announcement by the end of the week''. Anyways, the dynamics between them is starting and I'm willing to go through it all once again to get the feels !

Warning : In this episode, we can see Mycroft, Sherlock's brother, picking up John and asking him to give some information to have some money, since he doesn't have much because of his army pension. John refuses (even if Sherlock says that he should have accepted just for the money, but I feel like Watson had a strong core of values that he wouldn't change for), and then, Mycroft warns John about Sherlock, as much as Sally, who thinks he's a psychopath and that he will kill someday, just for the fun of it. But in the end, John stays with Sherock, and compliments him on his deductions, which no one else does. After all, he's just a sociopath, not a psychopath, right ?

Cabbie : In this episode, the serial killer is a taxi driver who picks up with people and talk to them into a choice, between two identical pills, one of which is good and the other one bad. Basically, a fifty-fifty medical roulette that four people have already lost. In the end of the episode, Sherlock had to do the same, but he is interrupted by John basically saving his life by killing the serial killer. He just has the time to tell the name of his sponsor, Moriarty, before he dies. (Which leads me to saying : why the fucking hell would a man save someone he just met the day before and is very concerned about him, to the point where he asks Mycroft if he's that concerned about Sherlock ? Silly Moffat, you'll kill us with your innuendos and subtext, URGH !!!)

Overall impression : Just the first episode and already a master-piece, but seriously, all the gay subtext will KILL me one day. Make it happen or not, but make your mind, Moffat !

Okay, that's it for today, I hope that you enjoyed this post and I will see you very soon with another one, I hope !

Hannibal, S3 Ep10

Hannibal, S3 Ep10

Hi everybody, Mary here.

So, here's the review for the tenth episode in the third season of Hannibal, with the episode that is titled And The Woman Clothed In Sun ! So enjoy the little ride with this new post, alright ?

And The Woman Clothed In Sun

So, the three words I picked for this episode are :

- Sex : Well, I expected Francis to kill that blind lady, but it's not happening for now. Instead, he brought her to the zoo and let her pet a sleeping tiger (which is still dangerous, besides the fact that I don't support zoos at all and that seeing a sleeping tiger on a table was heart-crushing instead of letting him roam free in his natural habitat), and then, they drank a cocktail and then had sex, and the woman was able to touch Francis's head, which he would never let anyone else do. Anyways, I will just keep watching this and see how it ends.

- Killing : In this episode, Bedelia *COMES BACK FINALLY* explains how she killed one of her patients while he had ended his patient-psychatrist relationship with Hannibal since he would drug him and make him do things that worsened his condition of a depressed man with insomnia. She explains with the analogy of a wounded bird, that a lot of people would help survive, and then she says that she would crush it instead. She warns Will about the fact that she did it even if she didn't want to, and that sometime soon, he would do the same and hurt people when he didn't want to do it. Then, she warns about Hannibal, and leaves.

- Missing : So, Bedelia said that Will misses Hannibal, to go see him and she thinks he's under his influence. (Well, she doesn't know the truth anyways...) And then, Hannibal uses Will's name to make a phone call and ask for a book, and plans his escape. In the end of the episode, Francis eat the original painting that inspired his copy and the tattoo on his back, then, he decides to leave, and knocks out Will with an almost super-human strength before he can even do anything. What will Hannibal do to go outside ? What will Will do to catch Francis before the next full moon, in eleven days, and as Hannibal said himself, that the time is ticking ?

Overall impression : A lot of suspense and packed action in this episode that was truly fantastic ! We'll see more of that soon !

Okay, that's it for today, I hope that you enjoyed this post and I'll see you soon with a new one !

And as usual, our last word : KIDNEYS !

Hannibal, S3 Ep9

Hannibal, S3 Ep9

Hi everybody, Mary here.

So, here's the review for the ninth episode in the third season of Hannibal ! So enjoy the ride and the little post for this #InThreeWords review !

And The Woman Clothed With The Sun...

So, for this episode, I've picked these three words :

- Family : so, we see the motives behind Hannibal's need of a family and the fact that we truly wanted to leave with Will and Abigail. *cues sad memories about Mizumono* Not only he talks about Will's family and the fact that now, he is a new man while Hannibal hasn't changed since he surrendered to the FBI (I think he's also talking about his feelings for Will and still wants to live with him). But as Alana warns Will that she has the keys "to all the five doors leading him outside", and Jack goes to see Hannibal while (I think he's actually in his house under police control and not in jail, since I think he's rich enough to take on the option) a transparent wall is seperating them. But now, what does Hannibal want ? What's his plans ? We'll see quite soon...

- Work : Will is now away from home and gets a call from his wife, and it feels like she's just here for him, even if she's at home with her son. It wasn't very long before Will gets in the head of the Tooth Fairy, Francis Dolarhyde, and gets nightmares and illusions from the killer's mind, and I think he will soon lose his mental stability. In the meantime, the killer goes to a psychiatrist and asks for help, but now she's in danger and will probably get killed even if she tries to understand him and presents herself as the only person capable to do so.

- Baby : Alana and Margot are STILL together ! A big gay hurray for them as they are now raising their son together ! They have a son who is the Verger heir, and thus, they knew that they could get away with Mason's murder, since now, they have a male heir to inherit all the possessions, and thus, he wasn't needed anymore and his tyrannic domination is now over. Now, I'd like to see more actions between them, which would be SUPER cool ! (That and Hannigram. Seriously, these are the only ships I am now rooting for.)

Overall impression : A very great episode, can't wait to see more ! A lot of packed action that will lead to more events soon !

Okay, that's it for today, I hope that you enjoyed this post and I will see you very soon with another one, I hope !

And as usual, our last word : KIDNEYS !

Hannibal, S3 Ep8

Hannibal, S3 Ep8

Hi everybody, Mary here.

So, here's the review for the eight episode in the third series of Hannibal ! It's The Great Red Dragon ! So here it comes ! (To burn your heart !)

The Great Red Dragon

So, the three words I have chosen for this episode are :

- Prison : Hannibal has now spent three years in jail, and yet, for Alana and Chilton, it's not enough. Chilton has written "a book of lies" and still manages to get away with it. The jail is quite comfortable for an inmate, me says. Anyways, we can see Chilton (was it Chilton ? I don't remember) eat with Hannibal, and Alana going to see him while in his cell. No one as visited him for now (I think). But will this stay like this forever ? I don't think so. (Prays for a little Hannigram to happen, like, Will helping him to escape or something like that.)

- The Tooth Fairy : a new killer has arrived, and everybody wants to catch him. Jack wants Will to go back to work and try to catch him since he apparently only kills families during the full moon. However, Will hasn't been using his gift lately so he doesn't think he will manage to make it. Until then, Jack tries to investigate, until Will, under the pressure, decides to go back and reconstructs the crime. But will he survive being under the pressure of his gift once again ? Or will he crumble like his first try at work for the FBI ? Only time will tell...

- Wife : as we can see, WIll now had a wife, who has child from a previous union. His life seems to be better, but as he goes back to work, will she accept it and face the Will who gets all the criminals in his head ? (I seriously don't know anything about her, so please don't spoil me, thanks a lot !) The wife and the son represent a new life. But what about the other characters ? Have they managed to get a new life after Hannibal decided to methodically destroy all of them one by one ?

Overall impression : A very nice episode to introduce us to the Silence of the Lambs arc, and now, what will happen ? We'll see in the next episode. (Crosses fingers for Hannigram.)

Anyway, that's it for now, I hope that you liked this post and I will see you soon with another one !

And as usual, our last word : KIDNEYS !

Hannibal, S3 Ep7

Hannibal, S3 Ep7

Hi everybody, Mary here.

So, I am really sorry for the little delay on my Hannibal reviews, but I just moved in my own little studio and I don't have the Internet for now. I have to go outside to get free WiFi (yikes), but here's the review for the seventh episode in the third series, Aperitivo. Enjoy your little Hannibal treat !

Aperitivo

So, the three words I've picked for this episode are :

- Baby : While Mason is obsessed with his Verger baby (even if the took his sister's vagina off and now still wants a little baby), he plans to use Alana (super-duper Margot's girlfriend, seriously I thought that there would be only one sex scene but apparently they are still together and I think that we're in for a little gay treat again in the future). But they decide to do otherwise and get rid of Mason by killing him. (I don't remember if this was here or in the eight episode so please don't mind me here, I am trying to remember what I watched the other day.)

- Capture : In this episode, Will and Hannibal are captured by Mason, and have to get off before Hannibal gets killed and served as a pig to Mason (but do I really trust his motives to eat human flesh when in the other episode, he wanted to pass animal meat as human one to impress and lure Hannibal in his little trap ? I think that he wanted to to a little show-off, but he doesn't really want to eat human flesh anyways. But we'll never know the truth since now, he's dead). And in the end of the episode, Hannibal surrenders in the USA in front of Will, who's left alone. Hannibal now wants Jack "to know where he is" and "what he's doing", but is it for Jack or for Will ? (Explanation below.)

- Break-up : Will now wants Hannibal out of his life. (Will he survive to this life away from him ? I don't think. Or at the very least, since Bryan Fuller keeps telling us that Hannigram is happpening, I am just looking for some gay actions. We can never have enough gay, am I right ?) But when he gets caught by the FBI, Hannibal's words are "I want you to know where I am, what I'm doing". The fact that he doesn't want to go away and leave resonate with Will's words : "I am not going to look for you anymore, I don't want to follow you." and so on. That obviously means a reunion... OF COURSE IT WILL HAPPEN. I just want Hannigram to happen.

Overall impression : A very good episode that ends the Red Dragon arc. A very nice conclusion. We'll see the next arc, the Silence of the Lambs, in next episode. So see you soon !

Okay, that's it for today, I hope that you enjoyed this post and I will see you soon with another one (at the very least if I have some Internet !).

And as usual, our last word : KIDNEYS !
